I remember MMM playing Leadville in 1977. He wasn't considered country at the time, he was playing 'wooden music" on the pop scene. Regardless, I loved his music. Here's a timeless country song ...

You may recognize him from the Mel Gibson movie Maverick. Before that he played with James Garner in the remakes of the tv series Maverick. He played the sheriff.

here's another one...

Good stuff! I had forgotten about him. I've been sitting here watching youtube, drinking and playing the guitar for the last six hours.

Thanks for the links.

Eddie Raven is one of my favorites!

I stopped in the longhorn on the way back from Cyclefest on friday night. There was a young band with a fiddle AND a steel guitar. When I say young I mean mid to upper twenties. I thought is was cool to see young people doing that.

Good stuff! Thanks.

Have you heard of Ryan Bingham? I like a lot of his stuff.

Here's one link but you can search his name for more.

definitely not mainstream "country".....you'll never hear this type of music on the radio. Corporations like Sony will not allow it. They are are choking music to death. This is one of the saving graces of the internet as it is now just about the only place to hear a variety of music. Don't you just love Youtube ? What happens if it gets bought out by one of the music companies ?

If they buy Youtube another one will start up. I am wondering what will change when China takes over as the keeper of the net.

I find myself on youtube a lot. Once I start watching music videos I don't quit till the head hits the keyboard a couple times. Then off to bed.

Some people don't get it. The love of music is the one thing you CAN take with you.
